Privacy Policy [wpfa5s icon=”mask” size=”lg” color=”#9D858D”]

This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which East Bay Harmony (“EBH”) collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (“you”) of the https://eastbayharmony.org website (“site”).

Personally Identifiable Information

We may collect personal identification information from you in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when you register on the site, fill out a form, or respond to a survey; and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available on our site. You may be asked for, as appropriate, your name, email address, phone number, your voice part, and a photo. We will collect personal identification information from you only if you voluntarily submit such information to us. You can refuse to supply personally identifiable information, except that it may prevent you from using certain features of the site, and may hinder your ability to participate in some EBH activities.

Non-Personally Identifiable Information

Our web server may collect non-personal identification information about you whenever you interact with our site. Non-personal identification information may include the browser name, the type of computer and technical information about your means of connection to our site, such as the operating system and internet service provider you use.

Web Browser Cookies

Our site may place “cookies” on the your computer’s hard drive to record information about them. These cookies allow certain features of the site — for example, the ability to log in and out of the members’ section — to function as designed. We do not use cookies to track your activity for analytical or marketing purposes. You may choose to set your web browser to refuse cookies; however, if they do so, some parts of the site may not function properly.

How We Use Collected Information

We use information collected from you in order to manage your membership in EBH and to organize and run our activities. We also make your information available to other members of EBH to allow our members to communicate with each other for chorus-related activities such as organizing sectional rehearsals, carpools, and social gatherings.

Sharing Your Personal Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent Users’ personal identification information to others. We may use third-party service providers to help us with administrative activities such as sending emails and collecting dues. We may share each User’s name and email address with these third parties for those limited purposes. As noted in the previous paragraph, we also make your information available to other members of EBH to allow our members to communicate with each other for chorus-related activities such as organizing sectional rehearsals, carpools, and social gatherings.

Information Retention

The personal information that each User provides at registration is stored on our web server. The user may edit or delete any or all of this information at any time, or may request that the webmaster do so. (This includes data that we’ve shared with third-party service providers, but does not include data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.) Comments that you make on surveys or discussion forums may be retained indefinitely.

How We Protect Your Information

Data exchange between you and the site is conducted over a SSL secured communication channel and is encrypted and protected with digital signatures. We use appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information that is stored on the site. In particular, the WordPress platform and plugins on which the site is built are continually assessed for potential vulnerabilities and and automatically updated whenever such vulnerabilities are found and fixed.

We rely on our members not to share your personal information with anyone outside of EBH without your permission. Anyone who ends their membership in EBH loses their ability to log into the members’ section of the site, and therefore will no longer have access to your information.

Third-Party Websites

You may find content on our site — for example, YouTube videos — that link to the sites and services of third parties. We do not control the content or links that appear on these sites and are not responsible for the practices employed by websites linked to or from our site. Browsing and interaction on any other website, including websites which have a link to our site, is subject to that website’s own terms and policies.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

EBH has the discretion to update this privacy policy at any time. When we do, we will notify you by email. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review this privacy policy periodically and remain aware of modifications.

Your Acceptance of these Terms

By using this site, you signify your acceptance of this policy. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use our site. Your continued use of the site following the posting of changes to this policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes.
